Who we are:
-
Will is a full time coach and has been coaching Triathlon for 21 years now and over this time as both a coach and athlete he has had the good fortune to work with and learn from some legendary coaches. The lessons learnt he has implemented into his coaching guiding over 200 athletes to Great Britain Age Group success with numerous Top 10, podiums and champions across the whole range of ITU World, European, IRONMAN and Challenge Family races along the way.
Will is the Head Coach and Founder of Precision Race Team the current UK and EMEA No. 1 IRONMAN Team. The team was rebranded in 2018 from ONE Triathlon RDS which was also an award winning team at ITU. The team is largely made up of top 1-5% Age Group athletes with well over 100 Great Britain Age Group international athletes as well as several World and European medalists.
Will coaches across the full spectrum of beginner to elite and enjoys the variety of challenges that comes with that.
Over the last two decades Will has also coached and supplied expert knowledge to brands and publications such as HUUB, Speedo, Gordon Ramsay, The Times, The Telegraph, The Mail on Sunday, ITV’s Good Morning Britain, 220 Triathlon as well as numerous online publications.
The truth is every athlete is different and deserves an individual approach. Will offers strong guidance and entirely individualised targets. However, feedback is vital. Coaching is a relationship and as with any relationship communication is key. Will encourages as much feedback and contact as an athlete can give but will also work with the athlete to educate them as to the really important information to feedback on from a performance perspective as well as the information important to them as an individual.

I’m Coach Ben, a former Junior Elite triathlete, lifelong swimmer, and now a dedicated triathlon coach. With 2 decades of sporting experience, I've competed alongside some of the best and won multiple National Championship medals. I love helping athletes of all levels reach new PBs, qualify for Age Group teams, or just enjoy living an active lifestyle through the sport of triathlon.
Balancing training, work, and family, I know what it's like to fit triathlon into a busy life. My goal? To work with motivated, happy, athletes, empowering you to succeed, whatever your goals may be.
As a seasoned short-course athlete and multiple-time championship medalist, I understand how everyday athletes prepare to perform at their best and I am passionate about helping others reach their potential.
I've had the privilege to train and collaborate with some of the best athletes and coaches, bringing that expertise into my coaching in a practical, engaging way.
Juggling full-time work, training, and coaching, I truly understand how to help busy athletes plan effective, enjoyable routines with specificity and adaptability. I’m thrilled to work with athletes at every level, from complete beginners to elite competitors, building realistic, motivating training plans that involve athletes in the planning process.
Encouraging athletes’ ownership and accountability is essential to me, as it helps them maximise their energy and thrive in their sport. For any athlete, regardless of age or ability, I believe triathlon should enhance life, promoting both physical and mental well-being through training and competition.
Staying informed about triathlon coaching, sports science, psychology, and nutrition is crucial. Evidence-based training is my foundation, and I strive to keep learning as a coach to better support athletes eager to elevate their race-day performance.
Having transitioned from competitive swimming to triathlon after the London 2012 Olympic Games, I moved up to the Elite ranks and competed alongside top talents, rapidly learning the demands of short-course racing. Since then, I’ve become one of the top Age Group triathletes in the UK at Sprint and Olympic distances, winning seven National Championship medals, including two titles, and proudly representing Great Britain internationally.

As a middle of the pack amateur triathlete with aspirations to achieve greater things, Annette joined triathlon from a running background and has self-coached, using her experience as a Level 3 Personal Trainer, before developing these skills further into run and triathlon coaching.
Working full time as well as training and coaching, she knows all too well how challenging it can be to fit everything into a busy schedule. She’s a keen advocate of listening to your body’s signals and doing what is right for you rather than worrying too much about what everyone else is doing in their training.
Annette is passionate about supporting newcomers and encouraging their development within the sport. She is keen to coach athletes looking to get started in multi-sport or to try longer distances up to 70.3/middle distance who are perhaps more focused on completion and improvement of events, rather than highly focused on the competitive element. That’s not to say she won’t encourage you to push yourself to be your best self!
Annette will always ensure that each athlete is given a training plan that is realistic and achievable in conjunction with the existing daily structure of work and home life. She believes it is of utmost importance that a training plan works alongside ‘normal life’ and that it offers the right mix of variety, challenge and opportunity for enjoyment.
She is deeply caring and invested in every athlete she coaches and can often be found on the sideline cheering loudly in support of their achievements. If you’re looking for a true cheerleader, you’ve found the right coach here. Annette offers the right balance between pushing you outside of your comfort zone but doing it in such a way that you feel 100% encouraged to do so in your own way.
Annette participated in her first triathlon in 2017 and quickly got the bug for the variety and challenge that multi-sport offers. Having come to the sport relatively late in life, she enjoys the challenges of many distances, but has still to complete a full distance triathlon. She is also a regular run leader with her local running club alongside her husband, and also participates in road and trail running events from 5k to ultra distance.

Matt’s an IRONMANU certified coach and Level 3 Personal Trainer. Matt comes from a strong run and S&C background but he’s been growing his own Triathlon Coaching business over the last 3 years, but has now ‘seen the light’ and merged this into the wider Precision Coaching family .
After 20 years working in the corporate world, he’s more than aware of the stresses and time constraints of balancing a busy work and family life with the rigours of training for Marathons, Ultra Marathons and IronMans. Matt’s triathlon journey was one of ‘Fat Banker to IronMan’ & did the full ‘zero to hero’ journey in under 6 months. He demonstrates the IronMan ethos of #anythingispossible more than most.
Matt’s a multiple IRONMAN, Multiple Ultra Marathon and many times multiple marathoner, now focused on age group racing and goals. The 3 qualities Matt admires most when working together with his coaching clients are; diligence, coachability & fun.

Coaching Services | Powered by TriDot
Online Coaching (1-2-1 coaching with a dedicated coach)
The Planning Process
As we get started together, we’ll have a chat to learn more about you including your short, medium, and long-term goals as well as your weekly timetable, which is essential to tailoring the training to you.
Your training plan is extremely personalised taking into account your performance ability, history in each sport, recent training data, target races, your environment, and even your genetics (if you choose to upload a genome file into the TriDot platform). Your training will include a mix of sessions and varying intensity that provides the perfect balance of training stress and recovery to optimize your improvement.
Coach Communication
Having coached 100s of athletes to international age group level with many attaining Top 10 and podium positions across all distances, we have developed a coaching approach that works for real people.
Your coach will regularly communicate with you via email, phone, and messaging in the TriDot app so that you have the motivation, knowledge, and guidance you need to be successful. You can expect your coach to provide tangible knowledge like training tips, gear selection, transition tricks, nutrition guidance, goal setting, event selection, race pacing/tactics, recovery tips, and form analysis. Beyond that guidance, your coach will provide accountability, motivation, mental and emotional support, and work with you to establish proper life balance.

FAQs
How does Precision Coaching's methodology differ from other companies?
It is the collective approach to coaching that makes Precision different to other companies. We firmly believe that no one coach has all the answers so we’ll pool our extensive knowledge and experience to work through.
We take a a holistic approach including input from our medical, strength and conditioning and nutrition specialists.
I’m new to Tri. In fact I’m new to endurance sport. Does this matter?
We very definitely have the capability to coach the full range of athletes. Only last year we took a young lady with almost that exact background to a successful completion of an IRONMAN in one year.
There’s nothing better than helping an athlete successfully smash their goals. Further to that, triathlon is a family and helping someone enter this sport is awesome!
What does a typical training week look like?
This is entirely up to the individual. On our initial discussion we'll look at your goals and the time you have available so that we can make your training week as efficient as possible. It may be that we make suggestions to increase or even decrease training to hit your goals. This process is always ongoing as we appreciate people's lives/priorities change constantly so your program will reflect this.
I have a pre-existing medical injury. Does that effect me?
This is not a problem at all. For those that can get to an appointment with our medic Dr. John Allen, (London/Guildford clinic), we'll do a musculo-skeletal screen to assess any known injuries and investigate areas of weakness.
If you do have an pre-existing injury John will co-coach to ensure we can train around it and get the best result for you.
What happens if I miss training sessions and can I swap my sessions around during the week?
Missing training sessions is inevitable. The weekly structure we put in place is designed to limit this but life will happen. Our program is designed to accommodate this over the course of the six week cycle.
Often something can come up at work or home that prevents you doing all your training. You can contact your coach if necessary to help you make the right choice so that we continue to make the most out of your time.
