What does your TrainX score tell you?

Finishing a session and completing its intended purpose are not always the same thing. An easy run performed too hard may cover the planned distance, but it has become a different workout.

That distinction is why execution feedback can be useful. It encourages you to think about how you trained, rather than looking only at distance, duration or speed.

What the score describes

FitLogic describes TrainX as a score from 1 to 100 that assesses execution against prescribed training, including intensity, duration and recovery targets. It is different from a training-load or performance score. FitLogic's component guide.

Treat it as feedback on the relationship between the plan and what you completed. It is not a grade for your commitment or a prediction that a particular personal best is guaranteed.

Set the session up well

Read the workout before leaving home. Identify the main objective and the metric you are meant to follow. A pace-focused interval session is often easier to execute on a predictable route than on a stop-start trail. An easy run may offer more flexibility, depending on its instructions.

Give the recovery sections the same attention as the harder work. They are part of the session, not spare time to fill with extra effort.

Investigate rather than chase

If a score surprises you, check the recording, the route and the instructions. Did traffic interrupt the efforts? Did the watch capture the full session? Did you deliberately change the workout after speaking to your coach?

  • Look for a repeated pattern before changing your approach.
  • Use notes to explain deliberate changes or recording problems.
  • Discuss what you learned from the session.
  • Keep the purpose of the workout ahead of the score.

A sensible adjustment can matter more than perfect adherence. The aim is to learn how to execute your programme well, with room for judgement when circumstances change.
